PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Program design is the process that an organization uses to develop a program. It is most often an iterative process involving research, consultation, initial design, testing and redesign. A program design is the plan of action that results from that process. Academic, recreational, informative, instructional, preparatory, these are some terms that can apply to the varying types of program development that i offer. The design of the program from a funding partner, stakeholder, or constituent perspective are all essential elements in the creation of a quality, performing program. The range of applications that i focus in include youth, young adults, and seniors, in addition to other socio-political designations including ex-offenders and unemployed or underemployed. The programs developed are always in accordance with client protocol. and compliance with city and state legalities, and have strict performance measures to monitor performance. Contact me today to consult on the development or restructuring of an existing program. Below please find some specific focal areas for program focus and design.
Arts & Crafts

Arts and crafts programs are a favorite amongst youth and seniors alike..Nurturing the creative abilities of program participants serves to enrich our cultural histories and legacies collectively. The arts open up many avenues for creative expression, and lead the way to creating visionaries who define the parameters of our shared experience, and create works that stir the emotions and delight the senses. As an arts instructor for many Chicago area organizations, including After School Matters, i can design and implement any level and degree of arts based curriculum in accordance with state standards, and mandatory SEL (Social Emotional Learning) and STEAM (Science Technology Engineering, Arts, Manufacturing protocols.
Science Club

A science club is always a good program to implement for youth and young adults. The thrill of discovery is always a great thing to spark the imagination, and instill a lifelong love of learning, and appreciation for nature and the environment. Many of a new inventor, healer, or scientist that go on to change the world, garner their interest and dedication for these earliest beginnings.
City Gardening

Being close to nature and using applied learning methods and skill-sets are what makes gardening programs fun and informative, and instills an appreciation for the environment, which is essential as we progress more into sustainable practices across the nation. With the awareness of food deserts becoming wider and more prevalent, and the documented need for urban farming to offset the supply of healthy foodstuffs for residents in inner city communities across the nation, urban farming and community gardens, along with farmers markets supply these said communities with healthy organic food. Gardening teaches also a valuable skill, while allowing participants to commune with nature and partake in the creative processes which sustain life, and create lifelong opportunities for interested people to go on and develop a hobby or maybe even a career in relative applications of horticultural specialization.
